Eaton’s ES AMER PCS CA division is currently seeking an Electrical Technician.
What you’ll do:
Primary Duties:
Reporting to the Services Manager or Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing quality assemblies and comprehensive testing of products serviced by the District Operations Center based on quotes.
Essential functions:
Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals and philosophies and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
Develop internal relationships to assist with material specifications, quality control, purchasing and delivery.
Notifies local managers when product assembly time cannot be met.
Communicate and resolve issues, concerns and schematic errors with the engineering team.
Assemble electrical products of all levels, including motor controls, circuit breakers, etc. This includes all component-level subassemblies and large-scale units.
Visually check components and assemblies for electrical and mechanical defects.
Read and understand blueprints and schematics for assembly and troubleshooting.
Perform subassembly and wiring of any product as assigned.
Configure equipment required for testing and perform product testing.
Receive products on site and prepare products for shipping
Refurbishment of used parts and equipment as well as disposal of non-functional parts and equipment.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• A post-secondary diploma in an electrical engineering program from an accredited institution
• Legally allowed to work in Canada without company sponsorship
• Candidates must live less than 80km from Laval
• Fluency in French and English is essential for this position in order to communicate with colleagues, clients and partners located inside and outside Quebec, as well as to understand technical documents in the field of our industry .
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified technician, TP designation and/or college diploma
• 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, power supply and/or control wiring
• Experience with basic testing and maintenance of electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable.
• Experience in warehousing, handling and forklift operation
