In this role, you will develop a deep technical understanding of Unity products, working closely with development teams and the technologies themselves. You will apply this understanding and your writing skills to create content that is both educational and inspiring. You will also collaborate with other writers to create a consistent and cohesive content experience across products, to establish standards for coverage and style, to learn from each other, and to advance the quality of writing at Unity.
This is a full-time position based in Montreal, with all the benefits and the possibility of hybrid working.
What you are going to do
- Create sets of technical content (user and development guides, API references, SDKs, code samples) for multiple products or features
- Contribute to content strategy for complex content sets
- Partner with product managers and developers to understand the technology behind each feature, target audience, and documentation needs
- Lead by example by ensuring documentation is as clear, concise, accurate and usable as possible
- Work as part of a globally distributed team, while maintaining active communication with your partners, regardless of their time zone
What we are looking for
Excellent oral and written communication skills
In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with software development processes and concepts
An ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand and user-friendly documentation
A positive track record of delivering high-quality content in a dynamic software development environment
The ability to lead by example and provide advice and guidance to less experienced editors
You may also have
Experience with object-oriented programming languages, video game development, digital art, or real-time 3D development
Experience with Git or another source control tool
