McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering invites applications from exceptional scholars for a tenure-track position in the area of Advanced Manufacturing at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate innovation and excellence in both research and teaching related to advanced and digital manufacturing. Proficiency in experimental and computational approaches in advanced manufacturing, along with expertise in the integration of CAD/CAM into digital manufacturing, is expected. Areas of interest encompass additive manufacturing processes, artificial intelligence/machine learning for optimization, diagnostics/prognostics for manufacturing, sustainable design for manufacturing, scalable micro/nano manufacturing, novel manufacturing techniques, and experimental materials science of manufacturing processes.

Applicants must possess a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, showcasing a successful track record of research achievements, including extramural grant acquisition and publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Additionally, they are expected to establish a robust externally-funded research program, supervise graduate students, and foster collaborations with other departments and faculties. Leadership skills, excellence in service, and the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals from diverse communities and cultures are essential.

Interested applicants should submit a comprehensive application including a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, a research dossier (with a statement of research interests and plans, a selection of research publications), and a teaching dossier (comprising a teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness).
